Keeping Up the Enthusiasm for RTW Challenge

Hopefully, you’re still going strong on this challenge.  It’s a huge undertaking if this is your first year, so don’t let it get you down.  Manage this a little at a time, one step after another and before you know it, you will have gotten through a lot and still keeping your RTW Challenge going.

A really great place to start is with going through and seeing what you need.  That means doing a serious inventory of your closet I promise to move on from the last post!!!  😉  But if you want to get a great start, this is where you can look.

After you’ve done that, it’s time to make a serious list of what you need.  Part of this will depend upon what you do on a regular basis – Monday thru Friday.  And then add in what you do off work, or out of your regular routine, and that gives you a great idea of where the bulk of your closet should be working for you.

Add in your style and take on life, and you’re there.

There are most likely going to be some big holes in your wardrobe – every closet has ’em.  But with good planning and some scheduling (particularly now that we’re in the winter with a greater chance of some snow/sew days coming up), it would be great to have a plan in the wings so that when you have this time, you can plunge right into the project.

I like to divide the time up like this:

Planning

Prepping

Putting together

Finishing and

Gathering in the compliments!

You can also use this if you have an event coming up soon – even if it’s a spring summer event.  There’s nothing like sewing on a beautiful happy summertime fabric in the middle of a cold snow day to brighten your spirits.

Seriously consider doing a large project.  The first of the year is full of enthusiasm for great new beginnings and you can use that feeling to plan out a project that will last you for many years to come.

Stay with it!
